Center Duties
Most organizations usually start their presentations with mission statements. We, however, would like to start with giving an overview of tasks that have been performed during 28 years in research, development and implementation of modern technology solutions related to security systems (mainly maritime security systems for the Polish Navy).
The substance of research, design and implementation works carried out by CTM has evolved during said period following the Polish Navy’s requirements. CTM took a great effort to be ahead of such needs in order to present ready solutions when the actual need emerged.
Above mentioned activities let us establish our competencies in areas such as: ship and coastal command systems, fire control systems, data exchange systems including radio communication systems, underwater surveillance systems, underwater weapon systems, and what recently is of special importance - the maritime infrastructure protection against asymmetric threats.
The performed tasks are always of high quality thanks to the employed professional personnel with the potential that has been gathered in the years of our business activities. Our research staff is organized in research teams of the four branches. The Centre has at its disposal uniquely equipped research laboratories. Effective and flexible project management is supported by the Integrated Quality Management System resorting to novel information technology tools. The firm is in possession of necessary licenses and certificates letting us the development, production and sales of domestic and foreign made strategic products.
The broad cooperation with Polish and international scientific, research and industrial organizations is equally important to the quality of our projects. Our staff actively participates in works of numerous leading organizations determining research directions of key interest to our domain, including those embraced within the EU 7th Framework Programme in the field of Security Research. The company development strategy is focused on the continuous improvement of our competences and potential aimed to provide the Polish Navy, military forces and security organizations with novel solutions assuring their top effectiveness and interoperability within the international environment.
At present OBR CTM S.A. does research development, design and experimental work to develop and implement modern solutions in the field of naval technologies as well as in the fields concerned with national security and defence. The centre is active in NATO and EU projects, including the 7 th Framework Programme – the area of security. It is a centre of competence for naval technologies. It is also involved in testing and certification of products.
Our competencies, based on modern laboratory facilities, result from our research and design achievements, long time experience of the science and engineering personnel as well as broad collaboration with domestic and abroad R & D and industrial centres.
Our development strategy is to constantly improve our competencies and research potential in order to secure significant participation of CTM in implementing R & D plans of:
- the Navy
- other branches of the Polish Armed Forces
- the services and agencies responsible for our country’s security
- NATO, EDA and EU research programs.
